Effective date: 26 October 2026

About this policy

NJC Solar (ABN 94 633 225 340) is an Australian-owned solar, battery and EV charging installer based at Unit 24/2 The Crescent, Kingsgrove NSW 2208. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you contact us, use this website or become a customer. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

When you make an enquiry, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, property address or suburb, the products you're interested in, details of any existing system, your approximate electricity bill, roof and switchboard details, your preferred contact time, notes and any photos you choose to upload.

If you become a customer, we may also collect information needed to design, install and support your system. This can include electricity bills and meter details, site and installation photos, system and serial numbers, and documents needed for network approvals, government programs, finance applications and warranty registrations.

We also collect basic referral details with website enquiries, such as the page you came from and campaign tags. Please don't upload photos or documents containing information we don't need.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and prepare quotes and system designs
  • arrange, carry out and support your installation
  • apply for network connection approvals and process government incentives on your behalf
  • register product warranties and manage warranty and service requests
  • meet our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations
  • improve our services and website.

We'll only send you marketing if you've agreed to receive it. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information where it's needed for the purposes above, with your consent, or where the law requires or allows it. This may include:

  • our own staff and, for installations in Queensland and South Australia, our partner installers
  • your electricity distributor and retailer, for connection and metering
  • government bodies and agents involved in programs such as small-scale technology certificates and state incentives
  • product manufacturers and suppliers, for warranty registration and support
  • finance providers such as Brighte or Parker Lane, if you ask us to help with a finance application
  • service providers that help us run our business, including our customer relationship management system (GoHighLevel), our website and database hosting (Lovable Cloud) and our email services.

Overseas storage

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers handle personal information securely and consistently with Australian privacy law.

Website, cookies and third-party services

This website uses browser session storage to keep referral details with your enquiry while you browse. Our contact page includes an embedded Google Map, and our reviews section displays Google reviews through our customer relationship management provider. These services may collect information under their own privacy policies. Links to our social media pages are governed by those platforms' policies.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. Uploaded photos are stored privately and are not publicly accessible. We keep customer records for as long as we need them to support your system, including for the life of our workmanship warranty, and to meet legal obligations. After that we securely destroy or de-identify them.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, by contacting us at team@njcsolar.com or 02 9090 4861. We may need to verify your identity first. We aim to respond within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
