Federation and inter-war homes often have terracotta or concrete tile roofs with several roof faces, many post-war and project homes have concrete tiles or metal sheeting, and newer builds and duplexes frequently use Colorbond-style metal roofs. Flat and low-pitch roofs are common on townhouses, apartments and commercial buildings. Each type affects mounting, panel layout and access, so we plan the installation around your actual roof rather than a standard template.

Designing for shade, space and orientation

In established suburbs, neighbouring buildings, mature trees and chimneys can shade parts of a roof at different times of day. Smaller blocks can also limit the space available for panels and batteries. We consider orientation, shading and usable roof area alongside your electricity use to build a practical proposal, and explain the trade-offs in plain English.

Many Sydney households come to us for solar first and add a battery or EV charger later, while others plan everything together from the start. Both approaches can work well. If you already have solar, we can review your existing panels and inverter to see whether a battery retrofit is suitable. How a site visit works

After an initial conversation, we arrange a time to look at your property. We check the roof condition and access, the switchboard and meter, likely locations for an inverter, battery or charger, and any shading. We answer your questions on the spot and then prepare a clear written proposal, so you can take your time to decide.
